Mega super important announcement!

In case you missed last week's big announcement, I will no longer be posting here because I have moved to a swanky new blog. Please visit me HERE if you fancy.

I will duplicate my postings at this page for a week or so to give everyone a chance to make the switch, should they choose to. After that, it's a case of thanks for the memories!

Halfway house.

There are no home-shot pictures to accompany this brief update. The main reason isn’t that we’ve not been taking them (trust me – we have) – the main reason is that I can’t download them from the camera to the computer, then upload them to this website. Normally this would give me grief but not this time. The reason the computer’s out of action is because we’ve finally finished decorating the front room!

Let me explain. The computer used to be in the front room. Now that the room’s fully painted, the quad’s been cut and stained and nailed into place and the furniture’s been moved in, there isn’t room for the computer. We’ll have to look at putting it in the new dining room (which is our new work in progress) or the new third bedroom (next in the queue and waiting patiently to be served). At present, I truly have no idea where it will end up. All I know is that Vanessa & I are due to paint the dining room ceiling tonight, assuming that Vanessa’s not too tired after a day’s working at the ABC Childcare Centre she’s at today.

So anyway, let’s take a moment to dwell on our accomplishments rather than what’s ahead. The lounge room is done. It looks fantastic and, for the first time in an age, we can sit and relax in a room that’s finished. It makes all the difference, having shelving units up and in place – knowing that you don’t need to worry about moving them because you’ll be painting the room ‘one day’. We have our ornaments and sculptures out on display, the television’s actually running from an aerial socket rather than a plug-in aerial and as soon as Vanessa & I hang all the artwork, we’ll finally be displaying all the things we’ve collected. That was always the aim but some days, I think we both wondered when the day would come.

Now onto the dining room. This week’s busy so we’re more than likely working in the evenings. Vanessa and I are both working today and Vanessa’s seeing her mother tomorrow for a bit. Other than that, we’re going to be going hammer and tongs to get the dining room sorted and that room ticked off the list. We have friends over for drinks on Saturday. It doesn’t matter if the dining room isn’t finished by then but I’m hopefully it will be at least 75% done by then.

We’re due to go camping for a few days in the New Year. I think, for the first time ever, this is going to be a holiday I’ve well and truly earned.
